Celebrations and sacraments
In St Augustin, if you're Christian practising, you can celebrate your faith by going to mass for different occasions (Christmas, Easter,..) You can prove your belief by doing your baptism and other sacraments. For example, when you're in 3ème, the pastoral proposes to everybody to follow the way of the confirmation which is the 3rd sacrament. What is really interesting and great for all students is that, in St Augustin, everyone chooses what he ( or she ) wants to do depending on his belief and his religion.

Activities
In year 7 and year 8, there are two choices either you take catechism or religious culture. Catechism is when you are believer and Christian or to be a believer and religious culture is when you speak about others subjects and other religions. And, in year 9 and 10, there are stakeholders of racism, violent, nomadic, handicap and others stakeholders... In St Augustin, there are many activities : humanitarian, “ bol de riz “ (“bowl of rice” is a special day where someone who wants to eat rice afterwards the money is for charity), compete and if you want you go in chaplaincy, the chaplaincy is open to everybody ...

How long have you been working in St Augustin ?
I arrived in St Augustin in September 1988, so I’ve been here for 21 years.
How did you choose to become a brother of St Gabriel ?
I have chosen to become brother of St Gabriel because, at the age of 12, I met and saw how brothers live in community, these brothers, spiritual sons of a saint (Montfort) were teachers, put their property jointly, prayed together : I like this type of life. It attracted me and after some years of reflection, I decided to follow this life at the age of 18 and I was engaged by vows in this congregation.
What is the mission of a brother ?
To love Jesus Christ who died to save humans, love brothers of my community and the other men, with a special attention to the “men hurt by life”, to love them by my profession, teacher, educator. To show everybody that the Christ is really important in my life and he invites me to be nice with all humans.
What is the educative project of the brothers ?
-To be careful of each student which has problems
-Teach solidarity and sharing
-Make the students discover a sense in their life.
